Product Education:
Cutting-edge Precision PrebioticMegaPreBiotic is a cutting-edge Precision Prebiotic supplement made up of clinically-tested, non-digestible oligosaccharides that may increase microbial diversity and selectively feed beneficial, keystone bacteria like Akkermansia muciniphila, Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, and Bifidobacteria. Prebiotics are non-digestible fibers that feed the bacteria living in your gut. However, most prebiotics on the market can feed both harmful and beneficial gut bacteria, which can exacerbate digestive issues.
Functional Fibers MegaPre reinforces the beneficial microbial changes created by MegaSporeBiotic to promote a healthy microbiome. This prebiotic contains a blend of functional fibres that specifically feed keystone bacteria. Increasing populations of these bacteria is an integral part of reinforcing a healthy gut microbiome, as they are very important for human health. Their populations can be easily diminished by stress, diet, glyphosate, and other lifestyle factors.
Aren’t all prebiotics the same? Prebiotics are essentially dietary fibers that cannot be digested or absorbed by the human digestive tract but instead feed the bacteria living in your gut. The problem is that most prebiotics on the market are not selective. This means that they can feed both harmful and beneficial gut bacteria, which can often exacerbate digestive issues.
MegaPre contains medium-chain carbohydrates, known as oligosaccharides, that cannot be digested by humans but instead target keystone species known as secondary degraders.
Primary degraders feed on the bulkier fibers like cellulose, resistant starches, and inulin and then convert them into intermediate products like acetate, lactate, and oligosaccharides that can then feed the butyrate-producing secondary degraders. These complex fibers are important because they can feed beneficial bacteria, but they can also be utilized by harmful bacteria. For this reason, we decided to skip the first step and provide the gut microbiome with the intermediate byproducts that it needs to produce beneficial short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) like butyrate.
The oligosaccharides used in MegaPre have been clinically shown to significantly increase keystone species like Akkermansia muciniphila, Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, and Bifidobacteria - all of which are very important for healthy metabolism, intestinal barrier function, and body composition.
